前言

第七届「紫荆花杯杰出企业家奖」的目的是表扬中国内地杰出民营企业家的成功事迹，借此推动中国内地、香港和台湾地区企业交流合作以及国家经济发展。
「紫荆花杯杰出企业家奖」主要是通过行业或社会团体推荐，选出对中国工商业及科技和社会发展有重大贡献的杰出民营企业家，并经由国际知名企业家、社会贤达组成的审定委员会审定，通过香港的国际性渠道，表扬这些杰出企业家的成就和模范事迹。借着一系列相关活动，加强他们与香港及亚太地区企业界的交流。

背景

「紫荆花杯杰出企业家奖」于1997年开始举办，迄今共举办了六届，共有117名中国杰出民营企业家获奖。他们来自中国26个省市自治区，行业涉及制造、基础建设、矿产化工、建筑地产、包装印刷、农业畜牧、纺织服装、医药食品、资讯科技、教育金融、商贸旅游和新能源等，皆为各行业的佼佼者。每届颁奖活动均安排获奖企业家与政府官员及各大商会代表会面及交流，活动获得中国内地及香港传媒的广泛报导。

第七届奖项颁奖及交流活动

2012年为香港理工大学建校75周年，获奖企业家将于2012年2月在北京人民大会堂接受担任大会名誉主席的国家领导人嘉勉，之后在香港参加大型颁奖活动、传媒采访及与香港及跨国企业的交流活动。候选人参选费用全免。获奖企业家除旅费及在北京的住宿自理外，其他在北京及香港的活动开支(包括香港的酒店住宿)，由大会提供。

紫荆花杯杰出企业家协会

主办机构在2002年于香港正式注册成立紫荆花杯杰出企业家协会，会员为历届「紫荆花杯杰出企业家奖」获奖企业家。协会为加强获奖企业家之间的交流合作，每年在不同的城市举行活动，包括理事会和会员大会、前瞻性论坛、小组交流茶聚及参观获奖企业等。通过紫荆花杯杰出企业家协会举办的活动，进一步凝聚获奖企业家的力量及智慧，促进中国内地及香港地区企业家分享营运及管理经验，推动知识及技术的转移。

Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Awards

The Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Awards was first launched and presented in 1997 to support and recognize contribution of non-governmental entrepreneurs in the sustaining economic development of the People's Republic of China and to enhance business co-operation between the Mainland and HKSAR. Six Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Awards had been organized in years 1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2009. The awards are presented to outstanding entrepreneurs who have demonstrated remarkable achievements in establishing their business and in making significant contribution to innovative technological development of their respective industries and PRC as a whole, and to continuous development of their staff and society.

Candidates have to be proposed by local trade and professional associations. Completed application forms together with supporting documents including audited financial statements and tax returns are sent to the Secretariat in Beijing for initial screening. Qualified applications are then mailed to the Selection Committee for independent grading based on the selection criteria mentioned above. The Selection Committee is composed of leaders from multi-national corporations and prominent enterprises from the PRC, HKSAR and Taiwan. Upon receipt of results from the Selection Committee, the Secretariat in Hong Kong shall compile a list of candidates in order of total grading for the endorsement of the Organizing Committee.

Awardees must attend Award Presentation Ceremony and related activities held in both Hong Kong and Beijing. They get to meet representatives from trade associations for future business co-operations in these networking activities and also extensive media coverage through international channels of HKSAR.

The Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneurs Association was formed in 2002 with an aim to fully utilize syndicated effort of members in pushing forward economic development of the country. Only Bauhinia Cup Outstanding Entrepreneur Awardees are eligible to be members of the Association and membership is automatically confirmed to awardees.
